Trasolite Leak Detection Powder

Trasolite Leak Detection Powder is a highly effective tool used in detecting bypass leaks or filter failures in your dust collection system.

When Trasolite powder is introduced upstream from the dust collector, the powder travels through the airstream and into the filter media.  If there is any point at which dirty air is able to bypass the filters these pathways will be detectable by visual inspection.  Although the fluorescent powder is quite noticeable under normal lighting conditions, proper leak detection procedures require the use of an ultraviolet light source in a dark environment.  Small leaks typically cannot be seen without the UV light source.

After a leak has been identified and fixed, proper procedure calls for a second test with a different color of leak detection powder.

We offer leak detection kits, complete with two colors of powder and a UV light source.
